Title: The Suspect List
Pairing/Characters: Megan, Colby, David, Ian
Rating: PG
Prompt: #6 Third Person
Word Count: 300
Disclaimer: I don't own Numb3rs.
Series: Buried Demons
Summary: In which our suspects are narrowed down to three.
“Here's suspect number one” David pointed out on the first tape.
Megan caught a glimpse of a pale, shady looking man in his mid-twenties. She shook her head slightly, “I don't think so guys, I mean, he's creepy looking enough, but our crimes date back too far. He's too young.”
“Ok, how about door number two?” Colby asked, playing a different tape, pointing out a tall, brown haired man who looked to be around fifty. He was smiling pleasantly and holding the door open for a woman exiting the store.
“He's the right age range.” Megan commented.
David nodded and fast forwarded further in the tape. “The next possible is walking in now.”
This time a bald man in glasses entered, nothing about him seeming overly suspicious. Same with the final possible suspect, a heavy-set man in his early forties.
Megan sighed. None of the three men she saw on camera really screamed out “predator” to her, but then again, they rarely did. Still, she felt slightly irrationally aggravated that they hadn't. “Well, you two get pictures of these guys through the system. Maybe we'll get lucky. I'll see if any of them are school employees,” she said gesturing to the files she had been sorting through.
“Any chance we can get the kid to check out the photos? Pick one of them out?” David asked.
“Not a chance.” Megan replied. “Don went by again. Apparently things went even worse than when I talked to the grandfather. It put Don into a pretty foul mood. Fortunately Ian convinced him to go home afterwords.”
Colby smirked. “I bet Ian did.”
Megan quirked an eyebrow, but before she could ask Ian's voice called from the doorway, “Bet I did what?"

Date: 2010-04-06 04:19 am (UTC)Nicely and well done -- especially in a series of so few word drabbles; just think what you could do with it if you hadn't 'restrained' yourself to the word limit, HOWEVER I love the challenge you've given yourself with writing it *as* drabbles!
Very well done.
