Title: Being What He Needs
Pairing/Characters: Ian
Rating: PG
Prompt: #53 Support
Word Count: 275
Disclaimer: I don't own Numb3rs.
Series: Buried Demons
Summary: Ian contemplates his situation on the drive back to L.A.
The ride back to LA was tense. Ian wasn’t quite sure how to deal with Don in this state. He knew that the other man partially blamed him for the pervert slipping loose, since Don called off the search at Ian’s word. However, he was keeping silent on the matter, furious gum chewing and rapid breathing were the only indications of Don’s current mood.
It wasn’t the first time the two men had butted heads during a case, but previously Ian’s solutions had been easy. Ian would say something to provoke Don into reacting, making him yell, swear, and get mad enough to start throwing punches. Before they hooked up, this would lead to an all out fight with both coming out bruised and bloodied. More recently, they would turn that violent energy into some of the most intense, angry sex Ian had ever had.
Now though, Ian didn’t really know what to do. It was clear that fighting or fucking wasn’t an option. He wasn’t sure he could handle having his lover pull a gun on him a second time, but damn it Ian Edgerton did not do sensitive. He didn’t want to talk anymore than Don did. Normally, the moment a relationship got this heavy, Ian bailed. One look over at Don though, white knuckles gripping the steering wheel tightly, and Ian knew that like it or not, someone needed to get Don to talk. At this point, Ian was a captive audience, and well, he really didn’t want to watch Don suffer in silence any longer.
He took a breath, and braced for explosion. “So, do you want to talk about it?”
