Title: Lust
Series: Sins of the Past
Pairing: Don/Ian implied, one sided Don/Billy
Rating: R
Setting: 1997 and Don's first month in fugitive recovery.
Summary: It takes Don weeks to realize what that itch he feels under his skin is.
Don loves fugitive recovery. It’s rough and tumble and a little bit reckless, and he finally feels like something more than just the green junior agent, like he was in Detroit.
Cooper’s the best. They work flawlessly together. Don’s learning a lot. Both from watching Billy work and from the way the man teasingly eggs him on, challenging him to push harder, be more aggressive, hone his instincts, and occasionally just forget the rulebook.
Ian teases him over the phone. Says fugitive recovery is turning him into a cowboy, but the tone in his voice is teasing and just slightly suggestive. Don laughs it off, but truthfully he kind of does feel like a cowboy. Especially after a successful hunt, when after he and Coop drop off their guy and head to the nearest bar, still sweaty and dirty, guns holstered at their sides, and Coop orders them double shots in his whiskey-rough drawl.
Coop toasts to a job well done and clinks his glass against Don’s, dropping a warm hand on Don’s shoulder and squeezing. Don tips the drink back and lets the liquid burn down his throat and curl warmly in his stomach, matching the heat at his shoulder where Coop’s thumb absently rubs against his collar.
Don looks over at Coop, who smiles warmly and winks. “Nice job, partner.”
The blush the comment induces Don expects, but what catches him off-guard is the way Coop’s low tone seems to travel directly to his cock and the way all of the warmth spread throughout his body from the alcohol and close proximity follows it there.
It jolts Don like an electric current and suddenly he’s really looking at Coop. Directly into his gorgeous blue eyes and Don suddenly gets it. What he’s feeling isn’t hero-worship after all.
