Any Pairing, Thaw, Baby It's Cold Outside
LA doesn't get *that* cold, but even new residents can get wimpy over time. Pick a pairing and have one complain about being cold after having to be outdoors at night and have the other offer to thaw them out in an offer too good to refuse.

Okay... this only partially fits the prompt...

Ian was used to cold temperatures. He grew up in Colorado, went through basic in Washington state, carried out missions in subzero temperatures while serving overseas. He could handle cold temperatures. And besides, this was Los Angeles. It wasn't like the temperature ever dropped below 40 degrees, even in winter.

So when his lover recommended a warmer jacket when Ian got called as backup for a hostage situation, Ian had scoffed. "Babe. The only people that get cold in this weather are soft California boys like you."

Now though, crouching on the rooftop of a building across the street from the dead end negotiations, Ian was revising that assessment. He'd been comfortable at first, even a little warm, but once the sun went down, the wind picked up and Ian began to get chilled. Hours later and the chill had gone bone deep.

Ian flexed his fingers, trying to get some feeling back. Next he rolled his shoulders, wincing at the dull ache the movement caused. He wanted to get up and really stretch, but knowing his luck, as soon as he did the negotiator on point for this case would decide that it was time for him to end this.

Ian wished it was Don's case. Don would have ended this hours ago. Don wouldn't have left Ian on a roof for four hours straight with no break. Don's team would at least be on the comms talking, joking, doing something to keep his mind off the fact that he couldn't quite feel his toes any longer.

Ian wanted coffee. Hot coffee. And maybe a blanket.

"Hey," a familiar voice called from the stairwell. Ian didn't turn, but allowed a smile to creep across his face. He listened as footsteps came closer and closer. A thermos was dropped next to his elbow. Ian could feel the steam rising up from it. He sighed.

"Cold?" came Don's gently teasing voice.

Just as Ian was about make a sarcastic comment back, Don rested warm fingers on the back of his icy cold neck, and all that came out was a strangled groan.

"You stubborn idiot. I told you it would get cold tonight." Don murmured, withdrawing his hand.

Ian nearly felt like crying when the cold air hit the back of his neck again.

"Easy," Don soothed, crouching down next to Ian. He unzipped his jacket and plastered himself along Ian's back, throwing one of his legs between Ian's. Then he reached for Ian's scope.

"Drink the coffee, I'll let you know if something changes." Don breathed against his neck, eyeing the scene below.

Warmth spread throughout Ian's body, only partially due to the warm weight settled against him. He reached for the thermos and drank, nearly spitting the coffee out at Don's next words.

"Damn. If I were running this, I would have let you shoot this guy hours ago."
