Series: College Life
Pairing/Characters: Ian/Don
Rating: PG13
Prompt: #30 Secret
Word Count: 245
Disclaimer: I don't own Numb3rs.
Summary: Don makes a decision
A/N: these are all now linked in order (so far).
Goddamn dirty secret. Don paced his room back and forth.
The words echoed in his head. Ian couldn’t think that. He just couldn’t…
It wasn’t fair. Ian didn’t tell anyone about them either. Why would he expect Don to? Don flopped down onto his bed, punching his pillow. Why should Don tell his friends, his family? It wasn’t like Ian told his par- Don drew up short. Of course Ian hadn’t told his parents. He didn’t have parents. And friends? Don only ever saw Ian with Jake.
And Jake knew everything.
Hell, the last time the three of them hung out, Ian had kissed Don right in from of him. Jake balled up a napkin and chucked it at them, telling Ian to ‘quit showing off.’ Ian responded with a brilliant smile, before flipping Jake off and kissing Don again.
Don still flinched sometimes if Ian even looked at him a certain way in public. He was treating Ian like a dirty secret and clearly Ian wasn’t going to put up with it any more. Don bit his lip. He couldn’t imagine telling his friends. They would hate him. He was sure of it, but he knew he couldn’t lose Ian either.
There was one person though, that Don was certain wouldn’t, couldn’t hate him for this. He just hoped she wouldn’t be too disappointed in him.
He got up from bed slowly. He needed to find a phone and make a call to Princeton.
